My son and I have been through a terrible three years!!!! First of all I was diagnosed with breast cancer. During the treatments for this my then 8-year-old son's so-called father (who is an alcoholic and very violent) thought he wanted visitation rights. They had never met because the father did not want the responsibility. While I was undergoing my cancer treatments I was also talking to lawyers and going to court. My son was being forced by the courts to visit with this man against his will. My son was undergoing counseling as well because of the psychological damage this was doing to him, not to mention his fear with my cancer. In the midst of all of this I lost my job of seven years as a medical transcriptionist.
Our emotional roller coaster is over now. I am finished with my cancer treatments. My son does not have to see his father anymore (I had to forego my child support in order to acheive this). I have started a new job.
As a result of the above situations, I have numerous medical, legal, counseling, and credit card bills. (I had to pay some of my bills with my credit card, which was a mistake). If I could just get these bills paid off, maybe we can get on with our lives. We live a very simple life in the country with my mother and brother living within walking distance. We don't do much except my son's sporting and school events.
If I could only get these extra bills paid off we could continue with our lives as it was three years ago. I cannot afford to pay all of these bills. I worry all the time about this. I can pay my utilities and living expenses if I could just get rid of these extra bills that accumulated over the past three years. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! I do not enjoy asking for help like this but I don't know where else to turn. Please help my son and I so we can forget the past three years and be happy again. Thank you very much!!!!!
