GTF (Glucose tolerance factor) is known as a hormone-like compound that works with insulin to transfer glucose from blood into cells. It is composed of certain trivalent chromium, some minerals, amino acids and vitamin. When GTF function is not working properly, the cells resist insulin and do not properly absorb the glucose needed for generation of energy. The liver also needs GTF to manufacture fatty acids, lecithin, cholesterol and lipoproteins.
