The Charlotte Acupuncture and Wellness Center specializes in the use of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for the effective treatment and prevention of a wide array of disorders. Each of our practitioners is a North Carolina licensed acupuncturist, has completed over 3,000 hours of postgraduate training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (including study in Beijing, China), and is nationally board certified by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Each time you visit the Charlotte Acupuncture and Wellness Center, you will receive the highest level of acupuncture and herbal medical care available.

Hope Peek and Todd Trembula are the primary practitioners at the Charlotte Acupuncture and Wellness Center, and they are specialists in the practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Hope and Todd are Licensed Acupuncturists (L.Ac.) in the State of North Carolina, and they are nationally board certified as Diplomates in Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM) by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The NCCAOM is the only recognized national organization to certify practitioners in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. The Diplomate in Oriental Medicine is the highest level certification granted by the NCCAOM and is awarded to practitioners that have proven their knowledge and skills in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Oriental medical theory.

Hope and Todd have completed an extensive amount of training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. They received Masters of Science degrees in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, NM. Southwest Acupuncture College is one of the oldest and most respected educational institutions of Oriental Medicine in the United States, and the MSOM degree is the highest fully accredited degree available in the field of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. The MSOM program consists of over 3,000 hours of postgraduate training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and it is completed over four academic years. With over 1,000 hours of the program being devoted to clinical training, Southwest Acupuncture College is well-known for graduating highly-skilled practitioners of Oriental Medicine.

In addition to their training in the United States, Hope and Todd have also studied abroad and completed advanced hospital internships at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center, People’s Republic of China. These internships included clinical training in two integrated medical hospitals in Beijing. Furthermore, this training allowed Hope and Todd to work with some of China’s most experienced and respected doctors of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine. It also gave them the experience of seeing how acupuncture and Oriental medicine can work together with Western medical sciences in an integrated setting.

Hope and Todd have also received training in the Toyo Hari style of traditional Japanese acupuncture. Toyo Hari is a highly refined and gentle form of traditional Japanese Acupuncture (Keiraku-chiryo). Their primary instructor was Sensei Takayuki Koei Kuwahara. Sensei Kuwahara was formally trained in Japan and was also an apprentice under Kodo Fukushima, renowned master and founder of the Toyo Hari Japanese acupuncture system.
