We buy homes at very DEEP discounts so we are able to provide our investors with extremely secure mortgages, usually at half (50% ltv) the present market value. So if the real estate value declines by even 25% more from today's level, the investor is still protected with a home valued at 50% more than his mortgage. The property owner (me) loses 50% of his equity but the lender is still protected. Don't you wish your stock market investments were still worth what you invested in them a year ago???
