Software Piracy
Software piracy is ackowledged today as being criminal, which makes it probably one of the most common crimes in the Western hemisphere! Attempts to block this lead us to the question of who and why.

Methane digester for biogas production
Biogas can be simply and cheaply produced from manure or vegetable waste. The gas will consist mainly of methane, an excellent fuel, if the digestion of waste is carried out correctly.

Infrared sensors
Infrared sensors are now often used for measurement of carbon dioxide and methane. Sensors for sulfur dioxide are becoming available as well. Infrared technology offers many advantages.

Low range sensors for pollutant gases
With today's optimised burners it ihas proved necessary in many cases to measure levels of pollutants far below the concentrations common years ago. Newer analysers have optional low range sensors.

Options Available with Modern Flue Gas Analysers
Today, there are many options available with the standard flue gas analyser. Some of these may be of use, some are only under certain circumstances advantageous. Here is a list of the common options.

Indoor Climate Control
Indoor climate control is a method of matching the ventilation to the number of people using a facility. DCV or demand controlled ventilation relies on measurement of carbon dioxide to achieve this.

The portable infrared analyser
The portable infrared analyser is now possible due to advances in electronic manufacturing and processes. Here is a brief description of such an instrument wit h some of the limitations on its use.

Sample conditioning systems 1
As fllue gas analysers improve, so the techniques of sample conditioning must improve to make use of the increased accuracy of the new generation of measuring systems. there is no point in being able

Sick Building Syndrome and indoor climate control
High levels of carbon dioxide in the indoor environment led to a problem called Sick Building Syndrome, caused by improper ventilation. Levels of carbon dioxide above 1000 ppm will reduce concentrati

Positive Effects of Carbon Dioxide
Carbon dioxide is held by many to be the modern incarnation of Satan: responsible for all the problems of this planet. Yet, without carbon dioxide there would be no life on our planet and it has many

Gas Monitors
Many industrial processes require a precise mixture of gas for some purpose and this mixture must be produced in a controlled manner. Gas monitors are used to achieve this.

The modern use of biogas
Biogas is being increasingly recognised as a useful source of alternative energy. this not only supplies energy from a waste product, but also reduces the venting of methane to the atmosphere. Methane

Calibration of flue gas analysers
A flue gas analyser is a measuring instrument that relies on a comparison between a stored result and the quantity to be measured. Without regular calibration this cannot be done with any accuracy.

Cross-sensitivity of electrochemical sensors
Cross-sensitivity is one of the major issues facing manufacturers and users of electrochemical gas sensors. Proper design and signal processing can eliminate these effects almost totally.
