Time management what is that? Everything gets pushed to the bottom of the "to-do" list, getting organized and getting everything on a time schedule falls under the "I'll do it tomorrow" category. If you would like to maximize your productivity during the day, setting aside some time to organize things is a must. Here are a few ideas:

Tools, Tools, Tools. What supplies will keep you organized. Is your desk a mess? What tools would motivate you to stay organized? Look through an office supply store, or build a set of shelves for yourself.

Pencil it in. Set aside a day or two to organize. Write it down on your calendar and make it a priority - not something to be erased later if something better comes up. If you're going to do a large area, ask someone to help you out. Bribe them with snacks and drinks, and play some music that gets you inspired!

Spit and shine. Go through every item as you clean off your desk. Go through each stack and separate them into categories, and put them into folders. If you don’t think you will use it for a while, put it in the filing cabinet. Make only the items you need accessible.

Filing Cabinet. Go through every file and figure out what is trash and what’s not. Save all important papers, including receipts and financial statements, but hard copies can be tossed if you have them saved on disk.

Computer Clutter. Look trough computer files. Trash things you don't really need. Go through the folders on your email account. (Please tell me you have some set up!). Back everything up on a disk or CD. After you do that go back to your documents and emails and figure out, what items you won't need in the immediate future. Go ahead and delete them - there's no need to have them taking up space on your hard drive. If you need to them, just pop in your disk!

Calendar versus Day Planner. Get a new day planner or calendar that you know you will use. Do you prefer to see the one month at a time, or one week?
Now that you're an organizational queen or King, continue the trend using these tips:

Create a To Do List. Think of things you have to do today, what about tomorrow, and in the future, write it down. Prioritize the list, what absoluty has to get done today? What can you put off until tomorrow? Keep this list within reach, so you can add things.

Morning Musts. Start each day by looking at your list and deciding what you must do first and what you need to accomplish for the day each. Set aside specific times to do emails, and return calls and such.

Origami. Organize your papers and mail as soon as you get it. Keep an envelope for receipts. Put new email into designated folders when you get it.

Staying organized takes work, take it a piece at a time and you'll be an Organizational Guru in no time at all!
