Retro-Fit or Replace?

In our fast moving competitive world, as businesses we must perform optimally. The worst thing that we encounter is having equipment that often breaks down on us, or no longer performs near its capabilities. The solutions to these problems can be found with upgrading and replacing equipment.

Upgrading is the least expensive of these options. We at Joliet Technologies can examine your existing AC and DC Drives. Through retro-fitting , your old analog equipment can be modified and updated to digital.

Complete replacement of existing drive systems is recommended, but we know sometimes that is just not possible.

RETRO-FITTING

1. More production (greatly reduced down time)
2. Improved performance
3. More flexibility
4. Readily available spare parts
5. Complete 24 hour technical assistance

SYSTEM REPLACEMENT

Includes all of the above mentioned benefits with any additional options required.

1. New cabinet and operator station
2. All new industrial equipment, relays, circuit breakers contactors, cooling fans, cabling etc.
3. More communication options
4. Complete new system drawings
5. Start-up and training

Joliet Technologies is an employee owned company and we strive to provide you the very best pricing available. You will find us always accessible and capable of providing you with solutions to your AC & DC Drive needs.

Whether you are Retrofitting or Replacing your existing equipment, it is important to be sure you are getting the right equipment for your application.

Which Drive is Right for your Application?

The AC Variable Frequency Drive market is becoming huge and this can be contributed to the great advances in highly reliable AC power electronics and high - power microprocessors. The Flux Vector drive for example can highly compete on an application that DC Drives would, in early years, be required.

Even though AC Variable Frequency Drives are readily replacing DC Drives and motors, there is still a large base of DC equipment that has to be supported by experienced technicians. Joliet Technologies believes that by not abandoning the DC market we can better serve our customer base demands. For example, older machines with multiple exciting DC Analog drives and motors may be a great candidate for retrofitting newer digital DC drive equipment. Saving cost and down time.

AC Drive Controllers can offer some speed and current control through the use of two-speed starter and soft start panels. Joliet Technologies can give to our customers the luxury of custom two speed and soft start panels that enables the addition of a unlimited amount of relay and auxiliary devices.

DC drives consist of an SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) bridge, which converts incoming three or single-phase AC volts to DC volts. During this conversion process DC drives then can regulate speed, torque, voltage and current conditions of the DC motor. This is ideal for industrial processes such as tube mills, extruders, mixers, paper machines and various other controlled applications. Joliet Technologies can provide several DC Drives from different reputable manufactures. Packages can vary from Onsite Retrofits to custom multi drive cabinets.
