Acid Reflux & Antacid Drugs
Are you getting heartburn over acid-reflux? That may sound like a daft question...but I get heartburn just thinking about it.

Go to Web Site

Drug companies, FDA, and your local friendly doctor not only support this outrage but also encourage you to destroy your digestive system, wittingly or unwittingly, with the long term result of leaving yourself wide open to all kinds of diseases due to the poor digestion of your food.

Fortunately there's an inexpensive and effective way of eliminating heartburn while promoting good digestion - instead of perpetuating your digestive problem by taking the very popular and expensive prescription drug that you will find advertised all over television and so readily prescribed by most doctors . . . Prilosec™ . . . "the purple pill".

You should also know that taking over-the-counter antacids such as Tums, Alka-Seltzer, etc. are no better.

To continue with this fraud on humanity, I recently read an eye-opening article from the Boston Globe Magazine with an overview of the marketing of the prescription heartburn drug, Prilosec™. Here's a quote from the article:

"That drug stripped misery from the lives of millions and became the world's best-selling prescription drug - and the number one medication prescribed for seniors - taking in $6 billion a year. Prilosec™ is so good, and patients so attached to it, that doctors jokingly call it 'purple crack.' It's an expensive habit, about $4 for each daily pill, or $1,500 a year."

It's this kind of reporting that gives me Acid Reflux.

Does Prilosec™ take away the pain of indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux . . . whatever you want to call it? It sure does. Does it also destroy your digestion? It sure does . . . and the same for other antacids!

The drug companies have done a great job in getting most people to think that stomach acid is bad. Well let me tell you . . . and read this statement closely.

Your stomach is supposed to have acid.

That's how we digest our food! In fact your stomach acid should be virtually the same strength as car battery acid. If it's too weak that's when food intolerances start to appear and we suffer from problems such as IBS, heartburn, stomach ulcers etc.

Most Digestive Problems Occur Because We Don't Have Enough Acid In Our Stomachs!

Heartburn, reflux, acid indigestion, whatever, have become so popular we now have a scientific name for it - "GERD" - Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease.

What is "Acid Reflux" or any of the other scary sounding names?

It's nothing more than your stomach acid slipping past the little trap door (sphincter) that separates your stomach and oesophagus.

Your stomach is designed to hold this much needed acid, your oesophagus is not, hence the sphincter to keep your acid from backing up into your oesophagus And when it does, it is called "Acid Reflux" or acid indigestion or heartburn.

Now here's what the FDA, the drug companies and your local doctor who is prescribing the "Purple Pill" doesn't tell you:

Antacids cause the weakening of your sphincter - which increases your acid-reflux problem thus permanently adding you to the list of those who perpetually support the efforts of the drug companies to enrich themselves.

Yep, the short term "fix" assures that the problem will continue (and even worsen).

So what's the solution? Simple and inexpensive.

Take a natural digestive enzymes supplement which are readily available at your local health food store or on the Internet (here's the one we use in my family).

This combination will stop acid reflux in over 2/3 of all cases. The more difficult cases (that may include overt ulcers, etc.) may involve a more aggressive approach, and I seriously suggest you consult a homeopathic doctor, not a regular MD.

Know that a stomach low in acid is usually low in enzymes and the solution to the problem is to ADD acid and digestive enzymes.

Remember, it's not acid that's the problem, it's acid reaching the oesophagus that's the problem. Good digestion allows for higher concentration of acid while tightening your sphincter.

To do that you need to take enzymes that contain "betaine hydrochloride" which is a plant based form of the acid we need in our stomachs for proper digestion.

Believe it or not, probably the least known, (and most effective) "quick fix" relief from heartburn and indigestion can be achieved with a high quality Calcium supplement (Marine Grade Coral Calcium is even better - http://www.naturalhealthforlife.com/coralcalcium/index.html)
