Spiritual and Political Prophecy for America for 2004
Please read all before coming to a conclusion. There are sections on the purpose of the movie “The Passion of the Christ" and the election of 2004, Iraq and the war against terrorism, the nation under Kerry, Pacifism and Anti-Americanism and the conclusion: where to from here, which is a most important part for Christians.
Crossroads
America is at a crossroads and this year, 2004, is the year of decision. America is in the valley of decision, standing before God's judgment. It is almost over. It is the last chance for Christians, those who claim to be Christians, to repent of their sin and compromise and turn back to following Biblical truth and morals and start becoming salt and light in our society. If we do not, by our repentance and change of lifestyles, change the mind of God (by fulfilling our part of 2 Chronicles 7:14), it will be too late next year. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Satan, our enemy is out to destroy America as we know it and to bring persecution to Christians. This is the year of decision and our future hangs in the balance. The attack of 9/11/2002 was a touch of God lifting the hedge of protection from America to try and get our attention. It was a wake up call, to the church in America, but the church did not hear and doesn't seem to care. Since that time we have snubbed our noses in the face of God, one denomination appointing a openly gay bishop and now this week the United Methodists acquitted a lesbian pastor who had recently got married of violating the church law which bans “self-avowed, practicing homosexuals" in the ministry. What a contradiction. I don't need to give the details of these news, they have been very public. I only mention these things to say that they show the condition of the church in America and it is getting worse and more grievous before the Lord as those who openly violate the laws of their churches are being exonerated of breaking God's law and church law. These are people who should have never been allowed into the ministry and would not have been if their sexual practices had been known from the beginning. But they lived a lie until they thought they could get by with it and push forward the homosexual agenda in this country. God has a controversy with America for breaking covenant with Him and He is tired of our heard hearts of rebellion and self will. I am not talking about those outside the church, but those in church leadership.
Unless we repent, God will cause Senator Kerry to be elected as our next president. Christians will be the reason for his election. Many of them think that would be great but don't understand the ramifications. If will be a sign of God's impending judgment. Jeremiah 23:11-12 “For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD." God tells of their condition, their deception and their end. V.14 “I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah." Those were the cities of sodomy that God destroyed for their wickedness. V.17 “They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you." They say God loves all and all love is of God, even homosexual and lesbian love, but that is not in scripture. V.18-20 “For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly." Are we not in the latter days spoken of here? Is this not the condition of the church of America? V.22 “But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." But they are not standing in His counsel to turn the people from their sins. V.24 “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?" V.26-27 “How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal." This is their end: V.39-40 “Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence: And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten." That isn't eternal life in heaven, which is not for the wicked. I would have included the entire chapter except for space.
The Passion of the Christ
The movie, “The Passion of the Christ" is God's final wakeup call to His people. The cross and the suffering of Christ has long been sanitized and left bloodless and powerless. The Cross has long been reduced to something in the background with no power and no importance. Today the most preached subject is prosperity; money and finances and now to get material blessings. Give to me and get a 100 fold return. But it is the Cross that is the “power of God unto salvation!" And the prosperity gospel is not The Gospel of the Apostles nor a part of the early Christian church. Romans 1:16 hasn't changed, but we have left the centrality of the Cross and lost its message and power to change lives. Now, God has raised up this movie to try and return the church to the Cross, to cause us again to see the price that He paid for our salvation, to bring us back to repentance and the fellowship of the suffering of Christ. We have lost the reality and understanding of: Philippians 3:10; “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death." 1 Peter 4:13 “But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy." 2 Timothy 2:12 “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:" Romans 9:1b “…if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
This movie is calling God's people to come back to His love, to being willing to lay down their lives for Him because of His love for us. John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." They can persecute us, they can outlaw our faith, but they can't stop us from flowing in the love of God. No laws can stop the flowing of God's supernatural love through a broken vessel. Then, with that love at the core, all other supernatural manifestations will come in proper place and the people will see the fruit of the Spirit working in God's chosen vessels, His holy remnant.
At the same time that God is touching some of His people with His love and bringing them back to Himself and renewing, rekindling their love for Him, He will also be walking through the church with an axe in His hand to sever and cut off those who do not respond. Matthew 3:10 “And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire." Even some Catholics, may be turned from all the Catholic idolatries, praying to Mary and dead saints, to a love for Christ and turning to Him and away from such man-made dead works to put their faith in the Finished Works of Calvary.
President Bush and the Election
For those who don't know it, God raised up President Bush to give America a last chance to avert His judgment, by his leading our nation to deal with the issues of abortion and turn around this wickedness, to stop homosexuals from redefining marriage and legalizing it, to deal with gambling and pornography, to stand behind Israel, and to stand for Him, the only true God and Jesus Christ His Son, before a wicked people and world and ask America to repent and return to Him. Both President Bush and the church have failed in all of these things and in all of these areas. We have been more concerned with pleasing men than God, more concerned with offending men than God.
Pat Robertson has publicly predicted that president Bush would be re-elected in a landslide. Nothing could be further from the truth. Pat Robertson's prophecy will be shown to be false on November 9, 2004. Pat has given wrong prophecies before and then just made excuses and kept on going like nothing happened. God doesn't make mistakes and God doesn't lie. False prophecies come from false prophets.
In the natural, there are two diametrically opposed opponents who will not win over each other's core supporters. The liberal democrats who stand for abortion, homosexual marriage and other radical groups, will not become republicans and those who are true Christians and therefore conservative voters against those liberal evils will not turn and become democratic supporters.
So, instead the enemy will use a tactic called voter suppression, to cause God's people to be discouraged and disheartened and not vote. They are working overtime to get everyone they can united under the banner of ABB (anybody but Bush).
If you can't get their vote, the second best thing is to get them to not vote at all. The enemy will rise up this year with a wave of accusations, gossip, rumors, lies, slander, half-truths, greed, lust, pride and a hunger for power and hatred against God, Christians and all that is righteous and good. To combat this wave of discouragement, the Lord is calling an army to rise up to the challenge - those who refuse to compromise, who are not working for physical or personal gain and will not sell out to the enemy for a morsel of bread or thirty pieces of silver. He has called us to love at all costs, to stand up for the truth at all costs, to love Him and truth more than or own lives. God will give an anointing to those who will stand for Him and righteousness, but few will.
One of the ways the enemy is going to work to discourage Christians from voting is there is going to be another major expose' of five Christian ministries just before the election. Unless God's people repent and hear the voice of God and vote as they should, President Bush will be defeated. Christians are the ones who put Clinton into office for eight years. God was giving America and the Church what it wanted then. But it was to bring America to the point of judgment, which it did.
The fact is, it has been determined that as many as 4 million Christian conservatives who most likely would have voted for Bush in the 2000 election, didn't vote. Is it any wonder? In case no one remembers, there has been some type of media expose' of Christian preachers in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000, all election years. It is not a coincident, but planned. That becomes obvious when you realize that there were no such exposes' done in any other year in-between them, only in these election years, to try and effect conservative Christian voters, to keep them from voting. They will do it again this year. They know that this is a key to winning the election because the country is fairly evenly divided. Discourage the Christians from being involved in politics and voting, to give them an advantage. Get them thinking, as many Christians have believed for years, that Christians should stay out of politics. Many Christians were made to think, what difference will it make if I vote. All the difference in the world! Votes of the Christian liberals and non-votes of Christian conservatives will decide the next election. Only if God's people will turn back to Him, put their faith in Him and have their minds renewed by His Spirit, will God cause them to go out and vote, stopping Kerry from being elected. The way things are right now, unless things change drastically, God will not cause this to happen and Kerry will be elected.
God showed and I preached on tape, long before Clinton was even a serious contender for the Democratic nomination, before Monkey Business changed the democratic political landscape; that Clinton would be the next president and it was to give America what it wanted (their idol of prosperity) and bring America to the verge of judgment.
Then because of much prayer by many Christians, God raised up Governor Bush to run for President. God showed some this and one minister even told then Governor Bush when he was in Israel that he should run for president. He had just been re-elected Governor of Texas and said he not yet considered running for president. The election was all about the will of the people (as the Florida Supreme Court put it) versus the will of God. He was giving us a last chance to turn direction and repent. The terrorist attack of 9/11/2002 gave the President and Christians a chance to make a difference and turn the direction of this nation back to God. We all failed.
President Bush seemed to be afraid of men and displeasing them and offending Muslims and didn't take a stand for Christ and the Lord God Jehovah, just as he hasn't done all that he could in dealing with abortion and the other great evils in this nation.
For those that have any thought that we would have been better off under Al Gore, forget it. It would have led us straight into the judgment that will come with Kerry's election, without the grace of another chance for America to change directions. There are many things that I could say, but won't because of space and time. But I will say this; for those who think Bush has put us in a mess with Muslim countries and that we would have been better off without Bush or the war in Iraq, let me just say this. Can you image what it would have been like in the radical Muslim world if we had elected a Jewish Vice-President? Then any move America would have made to either assist or support Israel in any way, even to agree with their struggles with the Palestinian terrorists in having a right to defend themselves, or against any Muslim countries, as attacking Iraq (and don't forget even Clinton made a few attacks against Muslim countries, as sending cruise missiles into Afghanistan); then their hatred and attacks against America would have been even worse because they would have seen it as an American-Israeli alliance against them, worse than it is today, simply because a Jew was Vice-President. And that is without saying one thing negative about the man, his politics, stand on moral issues of he day, only the effect of having a Jew sitting in the second most powerful position in the land, a heartbeat from the presidency. Think of the anti-Americanism that would have brought if Al Gore would have been president and we did anything to fight Muslim terrorism. While some are currently accusing President Bush of not having done enough to fight terrorism and try to prevent the attack of 9/11/04, others condemn him for doing so and said that the war against terrorism has only led to more terrorism. Heads we win, tails you loose, you're wrong no matter what you would have done. That is what the democrats have been doing, playing both sides against the middle and getting by with double talk and two faced hypocrisy.
Let me say this. No, God is not a Republican. No, the Republican Party is not God's party. No, every Republican is not a Christian. But, it is a fact that most Republican politicians know that they are being elected by the conservatives of America to represent them and so they at least do some things right to please those who elected them, rather than go the way of the liberal left of the democratic party. Yes, homosexuals are trying to get accepted everywhere to better further their agenda and so there is also a group of homosexual Republicans call the log cabin Republicans who voted for President Bush last time, but probably will not this time because of his stand for a marriage amendment, though that will never happen. It is already too late for that. The church waited to long to stand up and be counted. There is a point where the snow ball rolling down the mountain is already to big to stop.
The Nation under Kerry
After Kerry is elected president, the definition of marriage will be changed and there will be no stopping homosexual/gay marriages. It is already almost impossibility because this has all been allowed to come so far with no action to stop it. There is no way a constitutional amendment will be done of the issue of marriage, even if Bush were re-elected because of the time it takes and the speed at which it is progressing. Of course many Christians don't care or see any problem with this but it will be one of the final acts of defiance against God. Also Kerry will work to re-establish partial birth abortion, another slap in the face of God. God will give America what it wants, or thinks it wants, but it will pay the price. It reminds me of the children of Israel in the wilderness telling God to give them meat because they were tired of the heavenly manna. God sent them quail and then after they gathered it, before they swallowed the first bite, God slew them. (Numbers 11:32-33). “And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague."
Furthermore, we will come under great economic hardships as natural disasters increase and the terrorists hit America with more terrorism. Those who think we have experienced economic hardship will find out what it is to live in an economic meltdown. Times will eventually get worse than during the days of the ‘Great Depression." America will see how prosperous another liberal democrat at this time will bring us. They will get the right to their wickedness, but their security and prosperity will vanish.
We (Christians) will begin to come under persecution like we have not believed possible because we have not been thankful for God's blessings, but lived in rebellion and gone after money and this world and turned our backs on His Word and lived a life that is a mockery of His holiness. We have forgotten that judgment begins in the house of God. 1 Peter 4:17 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:"
In the months and years that follow this coming election, God's judgment will be unleashed upon America and we will experience the wrath of God for our gross rebellion and wickedness before Him. I am not talking about the sinners, but the church. As the church goes, as the people of God go, so goes the nation. When God's people walk in obedience to Him, God blesses the nation, through there be sinners therein. Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance." But when God's people turn away from Him to their own selfish ways and pursuits and fill their hearts with idols and pleasure, then God brings judgment. It will be no different with America than it was with Israel and how God dealt with them for turning their back upon Him after all His grace and mercy to them.
God is in control of history. He is in control of nations. He rises up kings and leaders and He puts them down. Daniel 2:37 “"Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory." Jeremiah 27:4-6 “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters; I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant." He was God's servant to bring judgment upon Israel. God blesses and judges nations, especially those who had made covenant with Him.
God's people for the most part are looking at only what they see with their eyes and are being greatly deceived. They are seeing only the physical and not the spiritual issues and problems in America.
Iraq and the War against Terrorism
Let me deal a bit more with the war issue since I have already said that more terrorist attacks are coming to America. This current war is stirring up passions within the Islamic world against America and Israel. This war will lead to that which is mentioned in Ezek 38-39, but not Armageddon. Am I saying that we should not have gone to war against Iraq or that the war was unjustified? No and no. It was necessary and ordained or God. God is the one who brings peace and war among nations. God caused this war to come about. Ecclesiastes 3:8 says there is “A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." God said there is a time for war. In the Old Testament, God brought war, both His people against other nations He was judging and other nations against them, when they sinned. He used war to judge and to change kings and the course of history. Isaiah 48:22 “There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked."
Saddam was a very wicked man who murdered many people and did great wickedness to the poor of Iraq and God heard their cry and has brought down Saddam as all tyrants of history have been brought down, when their purpose for being was completed. God raise up nations to punish His people for sin, then when they repented, He judged and destroyed the one who came against Israel.
Some facts: A police report said that someone tried to order $32,000 in UPS uniforms on e-bay. They have not been able to trace the person doing it. In New Jersey someone posed as a UPS worker and tried to get into a Federal building. So this gives an idea of what they are planning as they currently are testing out what they can do and get by with and looking for holes to exploit.
In recent news, it was reported that a group of men from Iraq were caught and arrested by the FBI trying to enter Texas from Mexico, to go to Crawford Texas. It has been found out that Muslims have bought property next to President Bush's ranch. The enemy wants to attack him there. So it is obvious that this is another area in which they are interested in attacking us. And the way they buy property like this is through another person, paying them a big commission to help them so that their own name doesn't show up on public records and it isn't so obvious that a Muslim owns the property.
We are in perilous times of evil men. Some nations are already passing laws to make it illegal to convert someone to Christianity. That is true in states within India and in many Islamic countries already. When the BJP party that is currently ruling in India, get a majority, so that they do not rule with the help of other parties (by coalition), they will outlaw conversion of Hindu's nationwide. They are the Hindu nationalist party and they are full of Hindu extremists who want to do away with Christianity. Some states are already having increasing persecuting and attacks against Christians. In Muslim countries it is already illegal for anyone to convert a Muslim. In these countries today, those who convert to Christianity can we killed by their parents or others and the government will look the other way. They do not persecute those who kill one who has turned to Christ. In some cases the one doing the converting if caught is jailed, persecuted and sometimes killed. Jesus said “the night cometh, when no man can work." (John 9:4) There are constant attacks and persecution against Christians in many countries already and it will only increase as the world tries to outlaw Christianity as being bigoted and full of hate mongers who are intolerant of others, when the fact is, it is they who are intolerant. One of the enemy's favorite tricks is to blame the innocent of what he is guilty of. The wicked are constantly accusing their foes of that which they are guilty of, to get the spotlight off themselves.
Pacifism and Anti-Americanism - Anti-Semitism
But because of the anti-American feelings that are increasing in the world, as anti-Semitism is also increasing, it will soon become almost impossible to go to another country and preach the gospel. There is coming a time when Christians will be persecuted world-wide as the nations rage against Christ (Psalm 2:1-2). “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed,…" This effort has been going on for some time and is a world wide conspiracy. Already in some EU countries there is political persecution against Christians. In Canada, the Koran can be used in court as a legal document, but the Bible cannot. In come EU countries, the Old Testament has been banned as hate language. It is time to wake up for it is later than you think.
Is it still possible to stop God's judgment and the election of Kerry as the next president of the United States? Yes. But time is short. If we will do as a people, according to 2 Chronicles 7:14, if we will do as Nineveh at the preaching of Jonah, then God will hear and turn from His wrath against America. It has only been God's mercy that has kept America from complete economic and physical destruction by our enemies.
Do you not think these terrorists want WMD's (weapons of mass destruction) so they can use them against Israel and America? Why do you think so many Muslim nations are seeking these weapons? It is because they know that there is no other way they can defeat either Israel or America. When they have them, it will not be like Russia having nuclear and other WMD's. Though the communists hated us, they never used these weapons because they knew we could also destroy them and they didn't want to all die. The Muslims don't care and are not afraid to die or if they cause millions of other Muslims to die because they use such weapons. The only thing important to them is their purpose and goal, the destruction of Israel and America, which they have openly stated again and again, but we just don't want to believe them or we would be dealing differently with Israel and the Palestinians. There is no two state solution to them, they have openly stated that their goal is one state, a Palestinian state to replace Israel. It is a part of the constitution and purpose of existence of the PLO, and yet we try to deal with them as if they want peace when they do not.
Europe, for the most part, were pacifists before Hitler rose to power and that is why he was able to do what he did. Today, they are again pacifists and don't want to fight against terrorism. Spain just made the wrong decision. They proved to the terrorist that terrorism pays and that they can win and get what they want if they keep it up. They have showed the world how not to fight the war against terrorism. The terrorist struck when they did with the intent purpose of affecting the outcome of the election and cause the president, who was an ally with America on the war in Iraq and helping in the rebuilding of the country, to be voted out. Most of the EU is anti war of any kind anywhere, thinking that being pacifist will make things better and stop war and terrorism, but they are wrong. The terrorist now have a great victory that will only encourage them to continue and step up such operations. They want to turn people of other countries against America and Israel and isolate us from those who have been friends in the past, so that we are all alone. Spain has now become a terrorist hostage and the terrorists know they can now get whatever they want from Spain because the people will do anything so that the terrorists will not attack them. They are not willing to pay a price to defeat evil men.
This is how the antichrist will take over and get ten kings to give their power to him. Revelation 17:12-13, 17. “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast… For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled." The future antichrist will blackmail countries and they will bow to his wishes. This is how he will take over without a fight. It might be because he threatens them with WMD's. It is only a matter of time before radical Islam has them. Also Europe is dependant upon Middle East oil and want to do business with them to make money. That is why France and Germany were doing illegal business with Saddam and didn't want the war, so their cozy deal wouldn't be affected and they couldn't be exposed. Pacifists and Democratic leaders today are playing a game with our future safety and we will loose.
They have forgotten when Iran had a nuclear facility some years ago that Israel made a pre-emptive strike and destroyed it. If they had not done so, Iran would have had nuclear arms years ago. At first many condemned Israel for the attack, but then later realized that it was a good decision and the right one. It was God's mercy to give us all a little more time.
American did not ask for this war with terrorists, Osama bin laden declared war on America many years ago and had been waging that war against America without us doing anything about it to amount to anything. Clinton could have stopped, killed or captured bin laden, but only tossed a few cruise missiles his way, when it was politically feasible to try and get peoples attention off the scandal and his impeachment. But the democrats have convinced some 40% of Americans that we should not have gone to war and we are worse off than before, even saying that it only unleashed more terrorist activity. Baloney! Then what did we do to provoke the attacks of 9/11/2002 and don't forget they tried to bring down the towers with a bomb in a van underground over ten years before and failed and attacked many American interests overseas for years.
We didn't start this war and we didn't provoke them against us. The war is not about Iraq, but about a Muslim holy war against America and Israel. Most of the problems and attacks in Iraq are from outside terrorists who don't want us to be successful there. The others Muslim countries don't want Iraq to successfully become a democracy. No Muslim nation is a democracy and none ever have been. Most Americans are not aware of the fact that the Muslims are just trying to fulfill Muslim prophecy about the end time Mahdi. They believe that they must fight a war against the West and they will win and take over the world. They believe the final Muslim prophet and leader will take over the world and it will become a Muslim world. They believe they will accomplish what Communism and Catholicism has not been able to accomplish. We call him the antichrist. They call him the Mahdi. Conclusion: Where to from Here
Yet, in the coming time of judgment, hardship and persecution, we will have our final opportunities to rise up and show the lost and hurting around us that there is hope through faith in Jesus Christ. It will be a time for true spiritual leaders to rise up and obey the call of God and be faithful to that call. Those who are seeking only God's glory and work for the love of souls will lead others by serving.
There are many similarities of America and Israel of the Old Testament. Both lands are lands that God established, blessed greatly and loved greatly because of His people with whom He had a covenant, then His chosen people and when our American forefathers who established this as a Christian nation based upon the Word of God.
America is today headed down the same path as Israel of Old, growing rebellious and cold and indifferent towards the Lord and relying upon our many new gods, idols that our forefathers did not serve. Today our man-made religious systems have left the truth of the Word of God and made us no different than the Pharisees of Jesus day that He so vehemently condemned as vipers and dead men's bones. Matthew 23:33 “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the dam-nation of hell?" Why was this so? John 5:39-40 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." Empty religion and rituals is what it has become in most American churches, fulfilling 2 Timothy 3:5. “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
God has a controversy with America, which I spoke of in another message, The Struggle in Iraq and America's Controvery with God. But instead of using a foreign power to attack and conquer America, the Lord Himself will conquer America.
He will pour out the new wine, but many who try to hold it in old wineskins will find them bursting, according to Mark 2:22. “And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles." God will not be interested in those who will just run to the altar and be quick to make meaningless promises, but for those who will be open to Him and faithful to Him, regardless of the circumstances in which they find themselves. God's message for His people in America today is Jeremiah 4:4. “Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings."
Proverbs 25:4 “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer." Malachi 3:3 “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness." 2 Timothy 2:20 “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." God wants you to invite the Holy Spirit to come into your life and act as a refiner of silver to make you a vessel unto honor and glory, to burn away all in your life that is not of Him. He is jealous over His people and He will come to complete the work in you which He began. Deuteronomy 4:24 “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God." Romans 9:28 “For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth."
The Lord is going to force His people to choose as in the days of Joshua 24:15. “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." The fire of persecution will force men to get off the fence and decide whether or not they will stand up for the Lord, His Word and His Righteousness. God is sick and tired of a lukewarm church. Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." He is going to force His people to choose and to either be on fire for Him, flowing in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, or to turn away and be cold and dead spiritually. There will be no in-between for He is coming to prepare a bride and that bride must be holy. All those who are not full of His Spirit, will be as the foolish virgins. Ephesians 5:27 “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." Revelation 21:27 “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." It isn't easy greasy grace that says you can just slide by in your sins and God doesn't see your sins. Don't forget that God said: “be sure your sin will find you out" (Numbers 32:23) and “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting" (Galatians 6:7-8). Know that God will judge the prosperity gospel churches and they will crumble in that which is to come.
Matthew 25:1-12 “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not." What will Jesus say to you in that day, “Welcome into the joy of the Lord, thou good and faithful servant" or “I know you not?" It isn't enough to go to church and go through religious motions. Name it and claim it doesn't make it real or make one a Christian. Many claim to be Christians but have never been born again and have no fruit of salvation, as President Clinton. Jesus said: “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:20). Matthew 3:8 “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:" Is your life bearing the fruits of repentance? Are you bearing the fruit of the flesh, the works of the flesh or the fruit of the spirit? The reality of our Christianity isn't in empty meaningless words but in deed and truth.
We need to consider the simple little statement, WWJD (what would Jesus do). That is the way He would have us act and live our lives, as He would, that we can be true ambassadors, representatives of the kingdom of Heaven. Something the church has not been. If you were tried for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you, beyond a shadow of a doubt? Going to church isn't enough. Saying you're a Christian isn't enough. Do we turn our back at the wickedness in our society or try to be salt and light in the midst of darkness. Christians in America are guilty of the sins of murder and homosexuality and more, if they voted for and supported those who stood for and made these laws and abominations what they are in this country. They share in that sin and wickedness.
This is what God is looking for and those who will be spared His judgment against a harlot evil church that is a spiritual whore as He judges her. I close with Ezekiel 9. “He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar. And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city. And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem? Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not. And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head. And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.'" The church is that “city that is set on a hill cannot be hid" (Matthew 5:14).
