There are many aspects that make a catering service a good one. Here are several important ones to look into. One of the most important things is the quality of the food that they serve. There is no way to be completely assured of this without trying it out yourself. Ideally, request to be called at one of their other catering events discreetly and try out the items on the menu in their kitchen. This is the best way to find out how well they cook their food. This will also give you an access to their on-premise kitchen and you know that the kitchen has a lot to say about the kind of people who cook the food there as well as the level of hygiene maintained.
The next important thing to look for is the quality of their service. If you have gone to one of their catering events to check out their food, you can also easily check out the kind of service being provided to the guests of the event. If the event is large enough, you can easily blend in as a guest and try out their service yourself.
The other important thing to consider is the kind of events they cater to. Do they only do buffet and bar events? Are they equally capable at silver service events? What about intimate sit down dinners in homes? There is no way to get this information firsthand. The best thing to do would be to request a list of recent events they have hosted and then to contact the host to get their feedback on the catering service. The last thing, of course, are the rates charged by the service. It is important to remember that just because the rates are high does not necessarily mean that the catering service is great.
