Do you know what pasties are? No they aren't something you eat although there are edible pasties. Pasties are an old school item that Burlesque dancers and exotic dancers wore up until the last 5-10 years. They were adhered to the breasts with spirit gum or pastie glue, even double sides tape. They used to have tassels and a trick of the trade was to make the tassels spin clockwise, counter clockwise and yes one in one direction with the other going in the opposite direction. Pasties were worn as some jurisdictions prohibited allowing a woman's nipples to be exposed. Regardless of the good or bad reasoning involved in those ordinances the pasties were a signature item of an exotic dancer's wardrobe. Burlesque dancers also have used the pasties with tassels that inspires a retro look going back 80 years or so.
Those old school pasties have endured although most exotic dancers these days either don't need to cover her nipples or they have moved to the new version of those oldies but goodies. Mainstream women have found that pasties have a role to play in providing discreet coverage of a woman's nipples under today's fashions that are slinky or sheer. The nipple covers or breast pasties as they are often referred to as are generally shaped like flower petals, come in nude colors or shades and are also adhesive backed for easy on and off. Generally these breast pasties can be worn multiple times and are used when a woman can't wear a bra but does not want to risk exposing her nipples or having the dreaded "headlights" problem where her nipples become erect. There are a number of these nipple covers no the market and they perform a necessary function when a bra is impossible or impractical. You can look like you are wearing a bra but aren't.
The latest entry into this market is a product marketed by the Pastease company. A large number of women who are not dancers found the freedom of wearing pastease or pasties which covered her nipples but were in decorative and colorful designs such as daisies, butterflies, crosses, lips or even hearts. These pasties are waterproof, guaranteed to stay on even under water. Thus they can be worn instead of a bra at the beach, pool or lake, wherever there is a supply of water and women wanting to wear swimsuits. Many are glow in the dark that can be worn to the clubs. The versatility of these pasties is that they are worn, usually by younger women instead of bras with bikini panties at the beach or under a sheer top at the club or hip hop club. While they provide a little less coverage than a skimpy bra many women are comfortable wearing them as they do cover the necessary vital parts. It is suggested that one check with local ordinances before venturing out in public wearing pasties. The ordinances vary from town to town, state to state. Some jurisdictions limit public displays of female or male body parts for good reason. On the other hand coverage of a woman's nipples may be sufficient to meet the regulations. Consider that many bikini bra tops do little more than cover a woman's nipples. Caution should be taken as it can avoid the long arm of the law being a buzz kill at the lake party because your coverage doesn't meet code.
