If you have been dating long enough and want to pop the question, here's an idea for a romantic summer proposal.
Book a room in a beautiful resort. Check with her first to make sure the timing is right and that she is going with you in the first place.
Start the day with a leisurely walk along the beach. Play in the sand, the water. Swim. volleyball for two. Get the endorphins going. You know, the feel good factor after a good workout.
Book a massage for couples (women do love these). Order a bouquet of roses (or her favourite flowers) to be delivered to you room while you are away.
When you return to the room, if the flowers are not there yet, discretely call the florist or concierge to deliver them. Once she sees the flowers and you are alone together, Go on one knee and propose to her. (Remember to get your engagement ring ready. If you are afraid of losing the diamond, at least get a cubic zirconia ring or costume jewelry first and tell her the diamond is in a safe back home.)
If you don't get the opportunity to propose then, still go on to have a romantic dinner for 2. You might want to hide the ring in her dessert. That is if she does not gobble down the food and choke on the ring.
Get the musicians to play your music. Something that is special to both of you. Maybe the music that was playing when you first met.
Write a love letter to her every day that you are there. Stick it to the mirror so she'll see it when she goes to wash up.
If you can sing reasonably well, you might want to serenade to her in the room. Write a song just for her before you go and sing that to her by the beach, then propose to her.
There is something very soothing and romantic about the beach. The sound of the waves. The sea gulls passing by. The entire vision of blue sea, white frothing waves, white sand. Remember a beach umbrella and sunblock so you'll enjoy yourselves, and not get sun burnt.
As you go along, you could talk about your lives, childhood. Get a cool drink in the hot sun. Get some ice cream. Just relax, chill out and have fun.
Try to stay for a week. Do things together. If she wants to go for some water activity, be there with her. Don't get complacent. There could be some beach hunk there eyeing her, so if you are not there, he might try out his chances. Above all, don't leave her alone with some other guy. This is time for both of you to spend together.
Music, good food, flowers, exercise to get the endorphins going. Maybe a game of catch. Cycling by the beach. Ball games. These help prepare for the ideal wedding proposal mood.
Throughout your stay by the beach, there should be many opportunities to propose. Just do it. Don't chicken out.
