What actually causes colon cancer is a hard question to answer because there can be so many contributing factors for a cancer to form.
Cancers usually start with common stomach problems such as gas, constipation or bloating for example. That’s why it can be hard to detect. Also don’t get worried if you have gas and read this.

Of course! Genes can play a big part of how susceptible you are to cancer. A study has revealed that almost 25% of the cases regarding colon cancer are caused because of some genetic link.
4. Environment
The environment you life in can play a big part in your colon health and your overall health. Heavy pollution or even mild pollution in the air, water or food where you live can be detrimental for your health. From the air your skin can absorb different things, from water and food your stomach. So it is important to live in a clean environment. City folks usually have more trouble with health than country folks just because of the difference in clean air, water and sometimes food.
5. Family
This goes in the genetics category. Does your family have a history of colon cancer? If so you should probably be aware that it can increase your risk of getting colon cancer. Do not become afraid, because if you eat healthy, live healthy and exercise you have a very, very low chance of getting colon cancer.
6. Diabetes
If you are dependent on insulin you are more prone to get colon cancer a recent study shows. If you are diabetic then your risk of getting colon cancer goes up almost 40% compared to people who do not have diabetes.
7. Alcohol
Alcohol is detrimental to the whole body but especially to the liver and colon. Studies have showed that the risk of getting colon cancer increases with alcohol consumption. You can live a great life without alcohol, and if you really need it try to minimize it as much as you can. Your body will thank you!
8.Diet
And last but definitely not least we have your diet. Diets high in any fat but especially from animal sources will increase the chances of colon cancer significantly. Eat a low-fat, healthy diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts & seeds.
