The very first article I wrote for www.wahjs123.com was about earning money at home processing rebates. We have all seen the ads and I know I was curious about it when I first saw it, which is why I invested. What happened after the purchase is detailed below. Since I wrote that article in August of 2007, I have received a lot of questions and comments on the article, so I wanted to do another article on the subject and see if I could answer some of the questions that I missed the first time or at least make myself more clear.
Rebate processing sounded like a great job to me, as a mom, I was thinking it was something I could do when my daughter was sleeping. Think about it, what could be better stay home, process rebates and earn money just by responding to e-mails and giving out rebates, from $15.00 to $25.00 a piece, I am in. After searching the Internet and not really finding anything negative about rebate processing I decided to give it a try.
That is when I found out what rebate processing at home really means.
Rebate processing is Affiliate work. Companies like virtual-training-solutions.com, RebateProcessorJobs.com and rebateproccessingjob.com, are not hiring you to work for them and then paying you by the piece, which is what I thought I when I have them my $39.00. (by the way all three companies owned by the same person).
Let me save you the $39 - $89 it takes to join these programs.
Sign up for a Clickbank account, find a product that you want to sell, I would look for a product with a high conversion rate.
Place an ad to sell the product and in that ad, state that you will give them a rebate of $8.00 just for purchasing the product from the link that you provide.
Now you will receive $23.00 for selling the product.
Then it is up to you to return $8.00 to the purchaser and thank them for their business.
Now you get to keep the remaining $15.
You just received $15.00 for processing a rebate!
There do you feel that information is worth $39? I didn't, I felt and still feel that I was mislead and scammed.
Can the system work, maybe but there are a lot of factures that go into making it work. Since it is a clickbank affliliant program the person has 2 months to return the product. So you process the rebate and send them $8 back, then they return the product and clickbank removes the full $23.00 from your account. Now instead of making $15.00 you acutally just lost the money.
In adidition Clickbank has payout rules, as do most sites. First rule is you must sell at least $100 before you receive your first payment. You also have to make sales with different means of payments, at least 1 paypal, 1 Visa and 1 Mastercard. What that means is if everyone uses paypal, you will not get paid until you get some credit card purchases. Now instead of making $15, you putting $8.00 of you own up on the line in hopes that you reach the payout restrictions on Clickbank.
Their members web site is pretty good, it will give you a list of site to post free ads to sell your item and sample ads, the information is there, but they lied to get me there and that was frustrating and upsetting and honestly other than writing this blog I have done nothing with my account.
