Car Battery tip:
Did you ever notice that there is times you can barely see the top your battery underneath all the gunk? This 'gunk' is actually battery corrosion, which is formed by acid condensation. It's time to clean your battery!

Safety tips:
safety glasses and gloves must be worn to protect your eyes and skin from sulfuric acid.

Note:
Sulfuric acid, if given enough time will eat your skin, clothing and the paint on your car. (keep yourself and surrounding areas clean!)

1) Scrape off any white or greenish corrosion deposits with the stiff-bristled brush or small metal or plastic scraper.
2) Use the solution of baking soda mixed with water, approx. One heaping tablespoon to each pint of water.
3) Carefully apply it to the outside of the battery, cable connections slowly.(careful not to splash)
4) Use a stiff brush (tooth brush will work) to work the baking soda solution into the heavily corroded areas.
5) Disconnect cable clamps You will need to use pliers, assorted end wrenches. Always disconnect the negative(-) first, then the positive(+).
6) Use your scraper and/or brush to remove the corrosion from the terminals, battery posts, clamps and brackets.
7) Flush all parts including outside of battery with your baking soda solution to rid them of any traces of corrosion.
8) Once battery and parts are clean. Dry off the battery and all its parts with a dry rag.
9) Reconnect the positive cable(+) first, now reconnect the negative cable(-). That's it your done!
