Feedback from real customers
There are many 2.4Ghz video senders in the consumer market. But even more customers complaint about it when interfered with other 2.4Ghz devices. Microwave is one of that noise sources at home.

I've tried a few 2.4Ghz AV senders over the years and they've all had minor problems. With a cordless phone, wi-fi network and microwave in the house all operating in the 2.4Ghz band it was a miracle that my present one worked at all. Actually it did work, but only some of the time. It slowed my wireless network no matter what channels I selected and often caused the pic on the TV to break up. The audio was very "crackly" too. So I finally decided to try a new 5.8Ghz AV sender, a DOSS AVS5800.

"No more interference"
by willsf (see profile) - March 11, 2007

I had a video/audio wireless solution with 2.4 GHZ, however, everytime we used the microwave or phone, it would get interference from it. Researched it online and determine that this product was worth a shot. I am glad I did. This product works perfectly when you have the transmitter and receiver in line with each other.

If you don't want ugly cables everywhere or can lay cable (your tv and cable box are across your living room - my case) then this is a very solid product.

"Superb! No interferance from WLAN, Phone, or Microwave."

This system works in my house just great! I'm going through 4 walls and a floor, about 45 feet, and all at a weird angle.

I have tried other systems, but this 5.8 GHZ idea puts all the others I tried to shame.

Perfect picture and sound.

No, I'm not on their payroll, but I wish I were!

Resumen: I received my AVS5811 from B & H Photo right on time. I had previously ordered a 2.4ghz unit and had interference from cordless phone and blocked my wi-fi network. I must have spent 3 hours trying to get it to work good. Finally gave up. Then found the AVS5811 at Price Grabber and ordered it from B & H. I removed it from the box and plugged it into the cable box, put the receiver in my bedroom, hooked up the remote IR extender and turned it all on. Immediately there was a clear picture and good sound on my remote TV in the bedroom. Not one line on the screen and crisp clear sound.

The remote IR worked well too once I got it positioned on the cable box where it worked best. My next test was to bring my laptop into the room with the Wi-Fi. This was the acid test and it works just fine. In fact using it now about 10 feet from the transmitter of the AVS5811 and all is well.

This is a great solution to get all the digital cable channels in another room legally without another cable box. There is no downside that I can see at this point. Considering getting other receivers for other rooms now so I can watch the premium channels on other TV's too.
