Using the free Pad2Pad design software is easy:
Step 1: Draw board outline and place components.
View a list of components and choose those applicable to your design. Place components to be assembled. The properties of each component are shown to help you make a selection. Currently we offer frequently used discrete components and will be expanding the list over time. You may also place footprints that will not be assembled and manually solder the corresponding components upon receiving your order.
Step 2: Set up electrical nets and position the components.
Use the Logical Connections tool to connect the pads graphically or edit electrical nets in a separate dialog. Even if you have never used drawing or CAD software you will find the Pad2Pad software easy to learn. If you have used complex CAD software you will be pleasantly surprised at the simplicity and power of the Pad2Pad software.
Step 3: Route your board using the easy-to-use design software.
Route your board using the Trace tool. Optionally add text, silk screen and other elements. When routing, logical connections disappear as you create real connections so it's hard to make a mistake. When you need to change a layout the logical connections will guide you effortlessly.
Step 4: Choose the Check Board command.
The built-in PCB expert won't let you make a mistake. Any short-circuits or missing connections will be highlighted.
Step 5: Review pricing and place your order.
Fill in your address and purchase information. Review the price and give the "Place Order" command. Your custom board will be fabricated, assembled with components and shipped to you.
