Kaplan University is an institution of higher learning dedicated to providing innovative undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional education. Purposes
*To accomplish its mission, Kaplan University has established the following purposes:
*Provide academic programs that have been developed and assessed by faculty, staff, and members of educational, professional, and business communities.
*Provide intensive and comprehensive instruction using both onsite and online modes of delivery that strengthens student academic achievement.
*Instill in its students the value of lifelong learning by stimulating intellectual curiosity, creative and critical thinking, and awareness of culture and diversity.
*Plan and provide facilities and resources that respond to the needs of students, faculty, and staff.
*Assist students in developing professional attitudes, values, skills, and strategies that will foster success in their careers and in life.
*Prepare students to meet the ever-changing needs of their communities now and in the future.
Campus Facilities
Kaplan University’s main campus is located at 1801 East Kimberly Road, Suite 1, in Davenport, Iowa. The University building encompasses a spacious 35,100 square feet. The campus is conveniently located near restaurants, shopping malls, and apartment complexes. The nearby interstate highway system makes this campus easily accessible to Iowa and Illinois residents. The facilities include classrooms, computer laboratories, a medical laboratory, a library, and a student lounge. Each Kaplan University course is taught in specially built classrooms, including computer and medical labs. Facilities are accessible to persons with physical impairments.
Residential Library
The University maintains information resources that support the education goals of students and faculty, and also shares these resources with the community. These resources include a collection of books, professional journals and periodicals, audiovisuals, CD-ROMs, computer workstations, and other materials. In addition, students are able to utilize area libraries through the State Open Access Program and interlibrary loan services.
A professional librarian and trained support personnel are available to assist students and faculty through the residential and virtual libraries. Students enrolled in any of the University’s educational delivery systems are assured access to educational resources and services through a variety of communication media.
Online Facilities
Kaplan University online is located on the Internet at www.kaplan.edu. Unlike traditional classroom experiences, Kaplan University focuses on adding a human touch to the high technology of learning online. We are committed to providing you the personal attention and academic support when you need it.
