Dear on-line players.
Most of the games that are being developed for TheMagicCell.com are some sort of strategy games. They don't require graphics or 3D animations. The idea behind these games is that you could play at home but that you could also take the game with you while you take the subway or bus to work.
Many of the current phones in the market already include web browsers. Thanks to our dual-UI technology, our games are designed to be playable on those browsers as well as in your PC browser.
The game logic and data storage is shared between the PC and the mobile version. However the presentation and navigation of the game is very much customized for the device the user is playing on.
Our expectation is that most users will prefer to play the games in a big PC browser. In this type of screen they have access to more games features from one screen and their productivity increases. However these games will demand constant monitoring and actions to be able to be competitive. This will make the Mobile interface extremely important because you can dedicate a minute or two to the game every now an then since your phone is something you most likely carry on you at all times.
These games will be supported by virtually all devices with a web browser. They are designed to be pure server based, that is they don't require java applets or ActiveX objects to be installed on the client side. Compatibility is one of our major goals.
Our mobile UI is very basic and easy for a mobile browser to download. You have to remember that when playing in your mobile the presentation might not be the most important thing. Our priorities are that our pages can load faster and that the Kbs transferred are kept at the minimum. However you will be able to perform the same operations as with the PC interface.
TheMagicCell.com is a portal and a platform from where multiple games are being and will be created. We're now entering our BETA phase. At the moment we're accepting a limited amount of users for registration. These users will be part of our BETA phase and will have advantages when our site becomes widely available.
Our plans for the future includes a developer section where people will be able to use our on-line browser-base platform to create games that follow our concepts: dual interface, server-based games, widely compatible.
During our BETA phase we will be piloting some initial game concepts ane we are open for new suggestions.
Our first games will consist on a conversational adventure and a world simulation. We will start our BETA phase when enough users have registered.
